The cottages have been used as Holiday Accommodation for some time, in fact they have been in the family for almost 50 years. The two self catering cottages have been tastefully modernised over this period but still retain all their character and charm. Well appointed and comfortably furnished they present a very welcoming home from home atmosphere.

The village of Lastingham engenders peace and relaxation and has much to offer the holidaymaker. A place of unique beauty and historic interest nestling among the folds of hills at the southern edge of the North York Moors. This quiet haven with less than 100 inhabitants has a charming old world Inn, The Blacksmith’s Arms, the well renowned Grange Hotel, but perhaps it’s most famous building is the splendid and historic Crypt Church of St Mary, with it’s wonderful ancient crypt which was built in 1078 as a shrine to St Cedd and St Chad who founded the monastery here in AD 654.

Lastingham is situated approximately 30 miles north east of the splendid city of York and just four miles north of the A170 road which runs east-west from Scarborough to Thirsk, along the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. The area has many and varied attractions, the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, Ryedale Folk Museum, Eden Camp Modern History Museum, Flamingo Land Theme Park. An abundance of castles, abbeys, churches and stately homes including Castle Howard, Pickering & Helmsley Castles, Rievaulx Abbey, Byland Abbey - and we are within easy reach of Heartbeat and Herriot Counrty.

Whatever your interests - walking, cycling, horse riding, golfing or just touring round this glorious countryside - it’s all here - woodlands and heather moors, hills and dales with the delightful east coast only a short distance away. Within a radius of 35 miles a wide range of attractions await your discovery.
